Okay, actually we are just turning cement into foundation. However, without being blasphemous, it feels like a miracle of similar proportions. That’s right, yesterday we finally had foundation poured for the winery production building. It seems that we have been telling everyone “we’ll be starting next month” forever. I thought maybe it just seemed that way so I looked back in the records. Well, our first meetings with the architect and engineer for this project date back to March of 2007!!! That’s right. Almost a year and a half of architectural work, engineering work (by several engineers for various pieces), pulling all the parts together, putting our two cents worth in (several times for at least a $1 worth), and playing ping pong with the county using our plans as the ball. We never would have guessed that it would be such a long process!!! And we are still playing ping pong with the tasting room plans. We are hopeful, though, that this chapter of the process will soon come to a close and we can get building, building, building. And, all sarcasm aside, we are very thankful to finally see some progress!!!!
