When we say we consciously craft wines, we mean it in every sense. No shortcuts in the vineyard, no unnecessary interventions in the cellar, no cutting corners on quality. Just honest, estate-grown wine made the way our family has always believed it should be made — with intention, integrity, and a deep respect for what the land gives us.

We believe our role is not to manufacture a flavor, but to guide the land — with real work, real grit, and constant attention — so the vineyard itself can shine through in every bottle.
As certified sustainable farmers through LODI RULES, our approach to the land is deeply intentional and decidedly gentle. Too often in agriculture, humans try to step in and over-manage, assuming we know better than the ecosystem itself. We firmly believe that Mother Nature inherently knows best.
So rather than forcing the vineyard to conform, we do the harder work of guiding it. Owl boxes stand sentinel throughout the vineyard, welcoming the natural predators that keep the ecosystem in check. Native grasses flourish between the rows, enriching the soil and inviting the kind of biodiversity that a healthy vineyard depends on. We work with the land, not against it.
It takes true grit to show that kind of restraint — but it is exactly what allows the grace of the vineyard to speak for itself.
We Guide the Fruit with an Intuitive, Unhurried Hand
While nature provides the beautiful foundation of our fruit, our unwavering commitment to quality guides the rest of the journey. We source only the absolute best materials for our cellar, meticulously selecting premium oak barrels from the most respected cooperages all over the world. These barrels are chosen not to overpower the wine, but to perfectly complement and elevate the natural grace of the grapes.
Our winemaking team is led by Proprietor and Vintner Kyle Lerner. Kyle’s approach to winemaking is deeply intuitive and fundamentally human. Rather than forcing a predetermined style onto the fruit, he listens to the wine, following the path it naturally wants to take.
Under his leadership, our cellar team embraces creativity in the pursuit of character and clarity. Together, they honor every single wine as a singular, beautiful expression of its specific vineyard and vintage.

We believe in minimal intervention. We let the fruit shine, avoiding unnecessary additives to preserve the wine’s natural, authentic character.
Wine is a pure, agricultural product, and ours are crafted completely free of any gluten-containing ingredients.
We utilize natural winemaking techniques that allow our wines to clarify without the reliance on animal byproducts for fining or filtration.
Only the absolute best fruit makes it into the bottle. We personally inspect every vine, prioritizing a gentle hand harvest over machinery.
OUR HISTORIC VINEYARDS
Sustainably Stewarding Our Lodi Estate Since the 1900s
Nestled in the Mokelumne River AVA in the heart of Lodi Wine Country, Henry Ranch is named to honor a long line of Henrys in our family history. Today, its rich sandy loam soil sustains nearly sixty acres of estate-grown winegrapes, alongside our sprawling historic gardens and tasting room.
Planted in 1904 and still thriving, this vineyard was taken over by the Harney Lane family in 2001 and rehabbed into what has now become our most award-winning wine. These vines showcase an old, gnarly, and ultra-delicious example of Lodi terroir. Lizzy James carries the name of the Lerner’s children and the ancestors that came before them. Standing at over 120 years old, this site is honored as one of California’s officially certified historic vineyards.
Rich with sandy loam soil, this small-lot Chardonnay and Zinfandel-producing vineyard is nestled in the Mokelumne River AVA, 3 miles west of our Henry Ranch estate. With 17 acres of Interplanted vines, from ancient to new, the Scottsdale Ranch is a highly regarded vineyard full of unique expression.
