OUR PHILOSOPHY
How We're Grounded by Grace + Grit and the Meaning Behind Our Brand
Rooted in hospitality, connection, and the rhythms of the land, these beliefs shape everything we grow, craft, and share at Harney Lane.
OUR MANIFESTO
Whether it is a vine, a friendship, or a community, what you nurture grows.
Attention is one of the rarest resources we have, and we choose to spend ours here. We tend to our relationships the same way we care for our vines, because when you pour love into the roots, they flourish.
There is no substitute for getting your hands dirty.
This is the Grit we live by. The best things in life—and the best wines in the cellar—come from patience, hard work, and a little bit of stubbornness. We respect the sweat that goes into the craft. Shortcuts might get you there faster, but they won’t get you there better. If you want the glory of the harvest, you have to weather the storm.
Luxury isn't a logo—it's a feeling.
This is the Grace we offer. It’s the quiet of the garden, the weight of a heavy glass, and the permission to do absolutely nothing for a while. True luxury is not about impressing others—it’s about feeling restored by a moment that asks nothing from you.
We exist in the balance of Grace and Grit.
One cannot exist without the other. We handle the hard work so you can enjoy the effortless results. We believe the fortitude of farming makes the elegance of the wine even more meaningful.
We believe in the sanctity of the dinner table.
It is where phones are set aside, stories are shared, and time stretches a little longer. It is the place where we reconnect with our humanity. In a distracted world, presence is the ultimate present.
We don’t rush the seasons, and we don’t rush the sip.
Good things take exactly as long as they take. We let the wine tell us when it is ready—not the calendar. In a culture built around speed, we choose to practice patience, believing that slowing down allows us to savor life more fully.
You don't need a special occasion to open a special bottle. You just need a corkscrew.
Today is reason enough to celebrate. Elevate the ordinary Tuesday night into an experience you’ll cherish.
You are aways welcome at our table.
Bring your stories, bring your laughter, and bring your thirst. There is always a seat for you here.
THE MEANING BEHIND OUR BRAND

An Intentional Palette Rooted in Sustainability and Hospitality
The foundation of our label is an intentional, grounding shade of green. This color represents the peace and serenity you feel when sitting beneath the deodar cedar trees in our historic estate gardens. But it goes deeper than a feeling—the green is a daily reminder of our commitment to sustainability and our responsibility to steward the earth and the estate we have been entrusted with.
Against the green, a striking copper foil detail stands out. We chose copper to represent the warmth, light, and genuine hospitality our team members share with every guest who walks through our tasting room doors.

A Tactile Experience Representing our Brand’s True Ethos
If you run your fingers across the front of the bottle, you will notice a distinct change in texture. This tactile experience represents our brand ethos: Grace + Grit.
The left side of the label is smooth, refined, and elegant—representing Grace. The right side is gritty and heavily textured—representing the Grit, fortitude, and calloused hands required to farm this land for over 120 years.
Sitting in the center of the label is our “H” icon. It bridges the gap between the two textures, symbolizing that great wine comes together through a delicate, deliberate balance of hard work and an elegant touch.

A Thoughtful Corner Representing Meticulous Care and Hospitality
The clipped edge was inspired by the tidiness of a luxury hotel bed sheet fold. It is a small, quiet detail that you might not notice immediately, but it is this exact level of meticulous care that makes your experience with us feel thoughtful, tidy, and welcoming.
By cutting that edge, we also created a fifth corner on the label. In biblical symbolism, the number five is universally recognized as the number of Grace—representing God’s goodness and favor. For our family, this fifth corner is a quiet acknowledgement of the Grace that has sustained our farm for many generations.
