Today is International Chardonnay Day – as if we need an excuse to celebrate this classic wine! Our Home Ranch Chardonnay is one of those wines we can’t seem to make enough of. It is so delicious, it is often here and gone. Thank goodness we have plenty to enjoy right now.
We are in love with its fruit aromas of baked apple, ripe pear and pineapple, highlighted with deliciously decadent notes of butterscotch, honey and vanilla crème. Despite this heady description, our Home Ranch Chardonnay manages to capture all of that luxury into a very balanced and drinkable bottle.
This one also happens to be near and dear to our Matriarch Kathy’s heart! Though one glass (or two) does not require a formal meal, we are known to pair it with a side of Kyle’s famous truffle popcorn.
Ingredients
1/4 cup plain popcorn kernels (air pop or pan)
Butter, to taste
2.5 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp black truffle sea salt
a few dashes cayenne
Directions
Pop your popcorn – it is important not to used bagged popcorn; air popped or pan popped corn offers the freshest flavor!
Toss popcorn in as much butter as you would like.
Mix together nutritional yeast, truffle salt and cayenne pepper. Toss popcorn well and enjoy this gourmet treat! Perfect with our Home Ranch Chardonnay (or Albariño).
